Dr. Sarah Mena

PSRI

Dr. Sarah Mena received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Centroamericana “José Simeón Cañas” in El Salvador and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida with Dean Jennifer Curtis. During her doctoral work, she studied turbulent solid-liquid flows and liquid localized fluidization. She later did a postdoc in multiphase flow microfluidics at the University of Michigan in Professor Mark Burns' group. Dr. Mena is the recipient of several awards, including the George Klinzing best PhD award by the Particle Technology Forum and the McKnight Dissertation Award.

Dr. Paul Mwasame

Dow Chemical Company

Paul Mwasame earned his B.Sc. (Chemical Engineering) in 2012 at the University of Pennsylvania and Ph.D. (Chemical Engineering) in 2017 at the University of Delaware. His work focused on the development of constitutive models describing fundamental rheological phenomena in particulate suspensions. After an industrial post-doctorate appointment at Corning Incorporated in 2017-2018, he joined the Dow Chemical Company in 2019. He is author or co-author of 9 external publications and is the 2020 George Klinzing Best PhD Award recipient.
